- Legare Waring House, Charleston
If a romantic, southern setting is what you’re looking for, this 1840s-era house is the definition of timeless enchantment. Complete with double lagoons and a wrought-iron fountain, and surrounding moss-draped oaks, Legare Waring House is a picture perfect spot to say “I do”. The venue is accommodating with three ceremony locations and plentiful parking.

- The Cliffs, Travelers Rest
In the name of quaint weddings, look no further than Travelers Rest. This small, but noteworthy town is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Carolina Preserve. A mountain top stone chapel at 3,200 ft. elevation, a six-room country club within the mountains or even a rustic barn are just a few of the offerings that make The Cliffs one of the best places to walk down the aisle in South Carolina.

Nothing captures the charm of Charleston more than a oak-lined plantation with a waterfront view. Lowndes Grove is a beautifully restored estate house with a 750 square foot piazza and multiple spaces to accommodate anything the bride to be desires for her wedding.
- The Old Cigar Warehouse, Greenville
Conveniently located in downtown Greenville, the Old Cigar Warehouse is a beautiful, historic setting to send the bride and groom off to happily ever after. It was built in 1882 and as the name suggests, used to house cotton and cigars. This 8,000 square foot space boasts exposed brick and stained floors.

The Millstone at Adam’s Pond is designed for an elegant Southern garden wedding. Built among acres of natural landscape, the venue has plenty of space for a ceremony that overlooks the pond, with dinner and dancing on the patio and a beautifully catered (which is offered in-house at this location) indoor reception.

Located in the heart of downtown Charleston, William Aiken House provides a historic venue with modern sophistication. With indoor ballrooms as well as outdoor courtyards, it is perfect any time of year. It is also, handicap accessible and seats up to 500 guests.
- Sleepy Hollow Barn and Plantation, Clemson
Sleepy Hollow Barn and Plantation is just as dreamy as the name suggests. The family-owned 44 acres of farmland on which the barn and wedding green are located will give your special day country charm with a hint of Victorian glamour. It has both indoor and outdoor event spaces, a vineyard and accommodates up to 300 guests.
- 701 Whaley Street, Columbia
If the bride and groom want to get more creative with their wedding space, 701 Whaley Street in Columbia is the perfect blank slate. Originally the company store for the area’s textile mills, the building suffered a caved-in roof and has since been restored to preserve the iconic appearance. The venue brags five rental spaces that can host anywhere from 50 to 1,000 guests and all the southern hospitality one could want in a South Carolina wedding.

If all of those charming Southern buzzwords make you want to gag, there are plenty of other options. One of the most popular in this coastal state is a beach wedding. The Cedar Room is located in Charleston’s renovated Cigar Factory on East Bay Street, across from the Ravenel Bridge. Brick walls, wood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows make up the 8,000 square foot event space that can hold up to 550 guests. In addition to the airy indoor space, the venue’s courtyard offers an outdoor option as well.
