#YalltogetherSC Movement Celebrates Local Non-Profits and Giving Tuesday

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday and South Carolina knows a thing or two about giving back! There are hundreds of nonprofits throughout the state that are doing so much good. There are so many things to be grateful for this season, and now is your chance to give back!

In case you’re not familiar, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Giving Tuesday has been going strong for seven years and has become the largest philanthropic collaboration in the world!

Together SC is the state’s network of nonprofit organizations. This year, they launched a statewide social media collaboration called #yalltogetherSC. Over the past few months, leading up to Giving Tuesday tomorrow, the campaign has been designed to highlight the work of South Carolina nonprofits. It is set to coincide with #GivingTuesday.

#yalltogetherSC is a collaborative 6-week social media campaign offering participating groups free social media tools, training material and weekly calls-to-action aimed at celebrating togetherness and building understanding and appreciation of our nonprofit sector.

 Nonprofits from across the state have signed up and joined the movement!

Weekly challenges like “Empower Y’all” and “Entice Y’all” called for organizations and individuals to get on social media to spread reminders of how important nonprofit organizations are to life in South Carolina. “Empower Y’all” was a call to reach out to legislators and “Entice Y’all” was all about using social media to share the “treats” given and received between nonprofits and their supporters. The focus is on celebrating the act of giving back within communities through social media campaigns.

This year’s global #GivingTuesday celebration has fun, bold plans to celebrate SC nonprofits, supporters, and their stories. Whether it’s some of your time, a donation, a gift or the power of your voice in your local community,  join the movement!
