Feeling alone this Valentine’s Day? You’re not alone.
According to a recent report, South Carolina is the second loneliest state in the country. That’s right, the Palmetto State is feeling pretty lonely.
The report ranked each state based on two factors – the percentage of singles in the state and a loneliness index. Singles included anyone who is not married and over the age of twenty, and the loneliness index was based on Google search queries ranging from “i’m lonely” to “date ideas”.
They found that 48.94% of South Carolina was single, meaning more than half of the state is not married.
Ready for the really sad news?
“I’m lonely” was the top search query in South Carolina. Whomp Whomp.
Don’t worry we’re still not the loneliest place in the country. That title goes to Washington D.C.with a whopping 70.10% of their population being single.
