The Palmetto State has plenty of races for runners and walkers alike to participate in this fall. Support a good cause while competing and staying fit.

Isle of Palms Connector Run

On Saturday, October 5th, join runners in the Lowcountry at the Isle of Palms Connector Run to raise money for the prevention of child abuse and the healing of those affected in and around Charleston. Participants can run either the 5K or 10K route, beginning at 8 am and running across the picturesque Intracoastal Waterway by way of the Isle of Palms Connector bridge. This race combines a good cause with a healthy lifestyle and gorgeous Lowcountry views!

The Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon, 5K + 10K

The Walk for Life and Famously Hot Pink charity races will be held on Saturday, October 12th, in Columbia. Participants can choose between a half marathon, 10k or 5k with staggered start times beginning at 7:15 am. Sign up for the race to help raise money and awareness to beat breast cancer in the Midlands!

BFF Pink Ribbon Run

Perfect for Grand Stand locals, but open to anyone is the BFF Pink Ribbon Run/Walk on Saturday, October 5th, in North Myrtle Beach. It is both walker- and runner-friendly, offering a 10K and 5K in addition to the new Memorial Mile, a chance to honor those lost in the fight against breast cancer. Participants can also raise money online to support the efforts of two local nonprofits aimed at beating breast cancer.

F.A.T.S 50K

Not for the faint of heart, the Forks Area Trail System 50K offers avid runners a course of four loops with trails of rolling terrain through the Sumter National Forest near North Augusta. The race begins at 8 am on Sunday, October 6th, and will offer food, drinks, and unique finisher’s awards. Do you have what it takes to run this 31-mile trek?

9/11 Heroes Run

The Charleston area race is just one of many that are held internationally on this day to honor the fallen heroes of September 11th: veterans, first responders, civilians and military. The Charleston 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, walkers and ruckers of all ages, all while offering a fun, family-friendly environment. Opening ceremonies begin on September 11th at 8:30 am, with the race starting at 9 am, followed by an awards ceremony at 10 am.

There are countless opportunities for runners and walkers alike to stay fit and even contribute to a good cause this fall. Be sure to stay hydrated – and we’ll see you at the finish line!
