On Thursday, April 16th South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster announced that boat ramps statewide would be open for use, prompting large gatherings on Friday, April 17th. For the foreseeable future, boating will be allowed with limits of two people per boat excluding family members from the same household. The revision to the executive order does not include piers, docks, or wharfs.

Governor McMaster has said he hopes that opening boat ramps will accelerate the reopening of the state, revitalizing the economy currently being crippled by the coronavirus crisis.
