Sitting outside these bustling cities are quaint cities and towns full of warmth, generous hospitality and welcoming spirits.

Here are 5 beautiful small towns and cities you have to visit in South Carolina:

York, SC

York is right outside Charlotte on the South Carolina side of the North Carolina/South Carolina border. Filled with history, York has plenty of museums and historical sites for you to visit. Plan your trip right and you could end up in York during one of their annual events such as the Annual Christmas Parade or Baloonazon! There’s plenty of activities to do, locally-owned restaurants to enjoy and even a historic theater to catch a matinee.

Bluffton, SC

Situated in the Lowcountry, Bluffton boasts beautiful views, a remarkable golf course and no shortage of water activities. Whether you want to fish, kayak, paddle board or watch for dolphins, Bluffton has an activity for all types during the day. A night stroll along the old streets will have you stopping in every art gallery, boutique and cafe. Bluffton will leave you in awe of its beauty.

Travelers Rest, SC

Despite its name, you won’t want to rest in this South Carolina town. Just south of Travelers Rest is the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail which stretches more than 20 miles and runs beyond Greenville. The Swamp Rabbit Trail welcomes more than half a million joggers, bikers, walkers and runners each year. The town is also home to the oldest standing bridge in South Carolina and hosts a Farmers Market every Saturday from the beginning of May to the start of September.

Georgetown, SC

As the third oldest town in South Carolina, Georgetown is proud to have no big chain shopping stores. Instead along the streets of Georgetown you’ll find unique boutiques and restaurants for every occasion. After enjoying a delicious meal at one of Georgetown’s many restaurants, you can head back to one of the inns, bed and breakfast accommodations or even to the country’s first bed and brews which offers free beer and a rotating selection of root beer for those under twenty-one.
