Baby, it’s cold outside and Santa is coming to town so you better not fright and get to these holiday festivities throughout South Carolina this December. Here are 4 events guaranteed to make your holidays the happiest.

1. Santa on Main, Greenwood

Another three-day festival that will not disappoint. The event includes a PJ party with Santa and photos, a North Pole Express party at the Railroad Historical Center, a Christmas Cookie Crawl, a Christmas market, wagon rides, a craft project with Mrs. Claus, a community theatre performance, tree lighting and a parade. Each is individually priced and takes place Dec. 14th to 16th.

2. Brookgreen Gardens’ Nights of a Thousand Candles, Murrells Inlet

If you’re in the Myrtle Beach area, these beautiful gardens come to life on select nights from now to the 22nd. More than 4,500 hand-lit candles and countless sparkling lights will glow. Wander the paths with friends and family, a cup of warm cider in hand, surrounded by the sounds of holiday music and carolers singing.

3. Winterfest, Fort Mill

Although technically in Charlotte, Carowinds is as much as South Carolina tradition as the holidays themselves. This winter, the amusement park transforms into an enchanting winter wonderland. You can look forward to 24 operating rides, a 70-foot Christmas tree, live shows, hands-on holiday activities, artisan vendors and special holiday dishes and desserts.

4. St. Francis Festival of Trees, Greenville

For 33 years, the Greenville community has gathered to experience the holiday magic and many surprises this recurring event has to offer. Presented by the St. Francis Foundation, spectacularly decorated trees line the interior of four hotels in downtown Greenville. Stroll through with friends and family to celebrate the season and support a good cause, as all proceeds benefit the Adolescent and Young Adult Inpatient Cancer Center.
